FSU vs. BC: Seminoles Preview Week 2 Matchup Against Eagles

After a tough loss to Jacksonville State last weekend, Florida State football will look to bounce back in Week 2 against Boston College. The Eagles enter the matchup with a 1-0 record after defeating Colgate 24-21 in their season opener.

Last weekend was rough for Florida State fans. Losing overseas as a top-10 team to an unranked conference opponent in a primetime game is certainly not the way to start the season. The Seminoles were outplayed in all facets of the game, and the loss raised serious questions about the team's potential in 2023.

Boston College, on the other hand, had a more encouraging start to the season. The Eagles defeated Colgate 24-21 in their season opener, and while the victory may not have been as impressive as Florida State's loss, it was a solid performance nonetheless.

Saturday's matchup between Florida State and Boston College will be a battle of two teams looking to rebound from different kinds of losses. The Seminoles will be eager to prove that last week's loss was an aberration, while the Eagles will be looking to build on their season-opening win.

Florida State's offense struggled mightily in the loss to Jacksonville State, managing just 229 total yards. Quarterback Jordan Travis was under constant pressure and completed less than 50% of his passes.

Boston College's defense played well against Colgate, limiting the Raiders to just 288 total yards. The Eagles recorded four sacks and forced two turnovers.

Florida State's defense was also disappointing in the loss to Jacksonville State, allowing 34 points and over 400 total yards. The Seminoles were unable to generate much pressure on the quarterback and struggled to stop the run.

Boston College's offense was not particularly impressive in the win over Colgate, but they did manage to score 24 points. Quarterback Phil Jurkovec threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Alex Broome rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Florida State is a more talented team than Boston College, but the Eagles are coming into the game with more momentum. The Seminoles need to find a way to bounce back from last week's loss, but it will not be an easy task against a solid Boston College team.

**Final Score:** Boston College 24, Florida State 20
