The Las Vegas Raiders' struggles continued on Sunday as they fell to the Baltimore Ravens 31-17, dropping to 0-2 on the season.
Quarterback Derek Carr had a disastrous performance, throwing three interceptions and losing a fumble. He was sacked four times and finished the game with just 192 passing yards.
Raiders' Woes Continue in Loss to Ravens
The Raiders' running game was also anemic, as they managed just 67 yards on the ground. Josh Jacobs, who rushed for over 1,000 yards last season, was held to just 34 yards on 10 carries.
The Ravens, meanwhile, had no such struggles on offense. Quarterback Lamar Jackson threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns, and also ran for 79 yards and a touchdown. Running back Gus Edwards led the Ravens' rushing attack with 118 yards on 20 carries.
The Raiders' defense was unable to stop the Ravens' running game, which gashed them for 230 yards. Linebacker Cory Littleton led the Raiders with 11 tackles, but he was unable to make a significant impact on the game.
The Raiders' special teams also struggled, as they allowed a 56-yard punt return to Devin Duvernay.
The Raiders will now have a short week to prepare for their next game, as they will host the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football. The Titans are 1-1 on the season after a 33-27 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday.
The Raiders will need to make significant improvements if they want to avoid falling to 0-3 on the season. Carr needs to play better, the running game needs to be more productive, and the defense needs to be able to stop the run.
If the Raiders can't make these improvements, they could be in for a long season.
